Chewing Loudly

The one thing that has the power to annoy me more than any thing else is people who chew loudly or with their mouth open. This one action has the power to not only ruin my meal but also make me angry and annoyed with you. This pet peeve most likely spawned from my father who lacks the skill to keep his mouth closed which then results in extremely noisy sounds and food spurting out of his mouth. If I could give you a reason as to why this bothered me I would. But I can't I just have an uncontrollable reaction when people fail to eat properly. When ever I come across a person like this I cant help myself but think "are you aware of how repulsive you look and sound right now?". A person with this habit is unsanitary and very rude. For example if I was to go on a date and you ate your food like you were raised by a cow I would get up and leave without another word. Therefore, if we're eating together please keep in mind that you should keep it in your mouth. :)

  1. I think this might go beyond annoying for you to absolutely anger-inducing. Does your dad know how you feel?

  2. I totally get why this annoys you.People who chew with their mouths open are just rude. When people chew loud or even breath loud when eating make me want to get up and leave the table. It is just gross! They should really invest in some proper manners.

  3. Yes Mrs.Le my Dad is aware of how I feel considering I have had to leave the table and/or plug my ears during the duration of the meal because of how much he angers me. We have come to a point where many of the family dinners include me eating after or in a separate room because of how much the sounds bother me.

Claire I completely agree with you why cant people learn to keep their sounds quiet there is no reason for me to hear you huffing and puffing... were not running a marathon people were just eating food you really should not be exerting that much energy.

  4. I feel like you are too sensitive to people who chew loudly. Perhaps they have a cold and are lacking in the ability to breathe through their nose forcing them to chew with their mouth open. In my opinion, you need to be more open minded and not give people such a hard time for a habit that isn't their fault but rather they picked up from someone else.
